Course Description

This course is designed to teach the Advanced Pilates Matwork exercises. This Intensive is a combination of 3 separate workshops and will include: Magic Circle Matwork, Foam Roller Favorites and Advanced Mat.   

* Please Note: Advanced Mat exercises are for strong, healthy individuals.  If you have neck, back, shoulder or knee injuries many of the exercises may be inappropriate for your safe participation.

Learning Objectives
At the completion of this course, You will:

• Knowledge and understanding of the use of the Magic Circle to add challenge and progression to the basic & intermediate level mat exercises.
• Knowledge and understanding of the use of the Foam Roller to assist students in finding strengths and weaknesses in preparation for more advanced work.
• Understand the 6 basic principles; breathing, control, concentration, centering, flow of movement, and precision and be able to relate these principles to the exercises learned.
• Knowledge of 20 Advanced Matwork exercises.  This includes proper execution, correct breathing patterns, repetitions, and order of the exercises.
• General guidelines for modifying the exercises.
• Awareness of cueing and spotting techniques to effectively explain the exercises.
• Understand how to pace a class, and safely progress clients into the advanced exercises
• With additional practice and preparation, participants have the knowledge to teach at the advanced level.

• (Foam Roller Favorites - Wednesday - 3/22, 10/18, 6:30-8pm)

Prerequisites
Completion of Comprehensive Teacher Intensives 1 & 2.
